Make a Gift of Life

DESIGNATE US AS BENEFICIARY OF YOUR POLICY

Did you know that you can also designate your Jewish Federation as the beneficiary of your life insurance policy. You will continue to own and make use of the policy during your lifetime. The policy will be included in your taxable estate when you pass away, but your estate will benefit from an estate tax charitable deduction for the value of the gift to us.

You can also give your life insurance policy to your Jewish Federation today and receive a charitable income tax deduction? You can then make deductible contributions each year, which we may use to pay the premiums. As owner, we benefit from the proceeds of your policy.

Make a Gift of Retirement

MAKING A BEQUEST OF YOUR RETIREMENT ASSETS

A retirement asset, such as an IRA account, makes an excellent bequest to your Jewish Federation. If the IRA were given to your family, much of the value could be lost through estate and income taxes. When you designate a charity as the beneficiary of all or part of your IRA (using a beneficiary designation form provided by your custodian), the full value of the gift is transferred tax-free at your death and your estate receives an estate tax charitable deduction.

HOW YOU MAKE A GIFT OF REAL PROPERTY

Your real property may be gifted to the Jewish Federation of Somerset, Hunterdon & Warren by executing or signing a deed transferring ownership. You may deed part or all of your real property as a gift. Your gift will generally be based on the property's fair market value, which must be established by an independent appraisal. Note that gifts of real property are accepted on a case-by-case basis.

Effective September 1, 2017, The Jewish Federation of Somerset, Hunterdon & Warren Counties has a brokerage account with:

Our preference is that donors transfer the stock directly from their brokerage account to our account with Charles Schwab by providing your broker with the following information:

  1. Our D.T.C. number is 0164
  2. Our account number is 3468-6871
  3. Our account is in the name of Jewish Federation of Somerset, Hunterdon and Warren Counties.
  4. Call Susan Giardina at Jewish Federation at (908) 758-2004 to notify us of the transfer of stock.
