What is Create a Jewish Legacy?

Create a Jewish Legacy is a community public awareness campaign conducted by The Jewish Federation of Somerset, Hunterdon, and Warren. The goal of Create a Jewish Legacy is to make our Jewish community aware of how simple and meaningful it can be to leave a charitable legacy. The program promotes the message that each of us can make a difference in the lives of future Jewish generations.

Create a Jewish Legacy is a unique, results-oriented program in which our Federation is partnering with local Jewish agencies, day schools and synagogues to establish bequests and other estate gifts for the community. The Jewish Federation of Somerset, Hunterdon, and Warren is providing each participating organization with a focused course of study including group training sessions and coaching for individual agencies. In addition, a marketing effort has been launched to raise awareness of the importance of bequests and endowments in the overall Jewish community. Everyone has a unique family and financial situation. Your legacy gift of any size can be designed to match your personal circumstances. Options include:

• A simple charitable bequest
• An outright gift using appreciated assets or cash
• An IRA or pension plan
• A life insurance policy
• A charitable gift annuity
• A charitable remainder trust

Why Create a Jewish Legacy?

Jewish tradition teaches that one of our key duties is to make the world a better place for future generations.  Chances are you already donate generously to the Jewish charitable organizations of your choice.
